Research

My research interests concern the intersections of continental philosophy, philosophies of nature and the environment, animal studies, and the phenomena of endangered animals and species extinction. To this end I have three research projects on the go: (i) philosophical ethology, including the translation of writers Dominique Lestel and Vinciane Despret (under contract with Angelaki and University of Minnesota Press's "Posthumanities" series); (ii) examining the philosophies of Martin Heidegger, Hans Jonas, and Hannah Arendt with respect to extinction studies; and (iii) an examination of the concepts of multispecies communities, endangered animals, and critical ecologies.
