Amphibians and reptiles are among the most at-risk animal taxa on the planet. These organisms face numerous threats, including habitat loss; unnaturally high levels of mortality from roads, disease, and predators; and collection for the illegal pet and medicinal trades.

CEEEC team members Lesbarrères and Litzgus, along with several CEEEC Affiliates and partners including MNRF and Ontario Parks, are working to test mitigation and recovery strategies to curb the effects of these anthropogenically-induced population losses.
